Stainless Steel Tender Roller-Cradle, Adjustable

Tender handling

On most swim platforms, the tender sits where it was placed when the lift brought it up. That position is usually determined by the lift geometry, not by what would be optimal for the vessel’s trim. The result is a fixed weight — often 200 to 500 kg of tender, fuel, and equipment — concentrated at one point on the platform, typically as far aft as possible. At cruising speed, this affects the stern trim. At anchor, it affects how the boat sits in a crosswind. And when the owner wants to use the platform for anything else, the tender is in the way and cannot be moved without lifting it off entirely.

The Edelstahl Beibootauflagen, verschiebbar solve this by mounting the tender cradle on a custom-made track rail that allows the entire unit — cradle plus tender — to slide fore and aft along the platform surface. The tender can be positioned at the aft edge for lift operations, then slid forward for better weight distribution during cruising, or moved to clear space for swimming, boarding, or maintenance. The roller cradles lock at both the start and end positions of their travel, securing the tender during transit. The track rail is manufactured to the exact length required by the platform geometry.

Like the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen, the slidable version features adjustable V-shaped side supports that conform to the tender hull, rubber-lined contact surfaces, and a plug-in mounting system with flush deck sleeves for tool-free removal. Three ratchet straps with stainless steel ratchets and three stainless steel folding eyes are included. All components are manufactured from electropolished stainless steel AISI 316L (1.4404). The system arrives fully pre-assembled — no electrical control required, purely manual operation. Track rail length, cradle width, and mounting configuration are specified per project. Designed and assembled at H+B technics, Münster.

CUSTOM TRACK RAIL SYSTEM

Slide the tender fore and aft on the platform — track manufactured to your exact length

The track rail is the defining feature that separates this product from the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen. It is a stainless steel rail system recessed into or mounted on the swim platform surface, along which the roller cradle moves on integrated rollers. The rail length is not a standard size — it is manufactured to match the specific platform’s available travel distance, from the aft edge where the lift deposits the tender to the forward position where the owner wants the weight during cruising.

This sliding capability serves two practical purposes. First, it allows the tender to be moved to the optimal position for the vessel’s trim without removing it from the platform. A 400 kg tender shifted 60 centimetres forward on a 12-metre yacht measurably changes the stern trim angle — enough to affect fuel consumption, planing behaviour, and comfort at speed. Second, it allows the crew to reposition the tender on the platform to free space for other uses: sliding it forward to clear the aft edge for swimming, or moving it aft for lift alignment before launch.

The track is mounted via the same flush deck sleeve system used for the standard cradle. This means the entire track-and-cradle assembly is removable when the owner wants a completely clear platform. The track rails sit flush or near-flush with the deck surface to minimise trip hazards and avoid interference with teak decking.

ADJUSTABLE SIDE SUPPORTS

V-shaped arms conform to any tender hull — same adjustability as the standard cradle

The slidable roller cradle retains the same adjustable V-shaped side supports as the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen. Each support arm can be set individually to match the specific curvature of the tender’s hull. The rubber-lined contact surfaces grip the hull without marking the gel coat, while the stainless steel structure provides the rigidity to hold position under load and under the additional forces generated when the cradle is sliding along the track.

The adjustability is particularly relevant for the slidable version because the cradle may be used with different tenders over its lifetime. When the owner changes boats or swaps a RIB for a jet ski for the summer, the side supports adjust to the new hull shape without replacing the cradle or the track rail. The mechanical interface between the cradle and the track remains unchanged regardless of what sits on top.

The load distribution across the hull’s keel line also plays a role during the sliding operation itself. When the side supports match the hull shape correctly, the tender’s weight is evenly distributed across the cradle’s roller assembly, preventing point loads that would increase rolling resistance or cause the cradle to bind on the track. A well-adjusted cradle slides smoothly; a poorly adjusted one drags.

PLUG-IN REMOVABLE MOUNTING

Entire track-and-cradle assembly lifts out — completely clear platform when needed

Like the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen, the slidable version uses a plug-in mounting system with stainless steel bolts that drop into flush deck sleeves permanently installed in the platform. The difference is that the mounting points are on the track rail rather than directly on the cradle. When the entire assembly is not needed, the track rails and the cradle lift out together, leaving the platform completely clear with only the flush sleeves visible at deck level.

This removability is important because a track rail permanently bolted to a swim platform is a track rail that collects dirt in its channels, catches bare feet, and prevents the platform from being used as a clean deck space. Owners who use their tender daily may leave the track system in place all season. Owners who tender twice a week and swim every day want it out when the tender is off. The plug-in system accommodates both patterns without compromise.

The deck sleeves for the track rail are longer than those for the standard cradle, as they carry both the track’s weight and the sliding loads transmitted through the rail during tender repositioning. The sleeve positions are specified during the configuration phase and can be installed before teak decking is laid.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about the Edelstahl Beibootauflagen, verschiebbar.

What is the difference between this product and the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen?

The standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen is a fixed-position cradle that plugs into deck sleeves and does not move once installed. The verschiebbar (slidable) version adds a custom track rail with integrated rollers, allowing the cradle and tender to slide fore and aft along the platform. This enables weight distribution adjustment and tender repositioning without lifting the tender off the platform. If your usage does not require moving the tender on the platform, the standard version is simpler and lighter.

What is the difference between this product and the Einfaltbare Beiboot-Halterung?

The Einfaltbare Beiboot-Halterung is a permanently mounted folding cradle that folds flat into the platform surface when not in use. It does not slide. The Edelstahl Beibootauflagen, verschiebbar is a removable sliding cradle on a track rail that can be taken off the platform entirely. The folding version is best for owners who want the cradle always in place but invisible when empty. The slidable version is best for owners who need to reposition the tender on the platform and want the option to remove the entire system.

How much weight can the roller cradle handle?

The roller cradle and track rail are dimensioned per project based on the tender’s weight, the platform’s structural capacity, and the required travel distance. The system handles the same tender weight classes as the standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen — from small jet skis to heavy RIBs. Our engineering team specifies the roller size, track profile, and locking mechanism based on the actual load.

Can the track rail length be customised?

Yes. The track rail is custom-manufactured to the exact length required by the platform geometry. It is not a standard-size rail that is cut to length — it is engineered for the specific travel distance between the tender’s lift position and the desired stowage position on your platform.

Does the sliding operation require any power or tools?

No. The roller cradle slides along the track manually. The locking mechanism at each end of the track engages and disengages by hand. There is no hydraulic, electric, or pneumatic actuation. This is a purely mechanical system.
