Stainless Steel Tender Cradle, Adjustable
A tender sitting on a swim platform needs to stay put. At cruising speed, at anchor in a swell, and during the transition from water to platform when the lift brings it up. If the hull rests directly on the deck surface, it slides. If it rests on generic rubber pads, it still moves once the pads compress or the platform gets wet. And if the contact points do not match the hull shape, the weight concentrates on two or three spots instead of distributing across the keel line — which means gel coat damage, hull deformation on lighter tenders, and a dinghy that creeps aft until the straps are the only thing holding it.
The Edelstahl Beibootauflagen solve this by providing a purpose-built cradle from electropolished stainless steel with adjustable side supports that conform to the specific hull shape of your tender or jet ski. The V-shaped support arms are individually adjustable, distributing the load along the keel line and preventing lateral movement. The cradle mounts to the swim platform via stainless steel plug-in bolts that drop into pre-installed deck sleeves — no drilling at the point of use, no tools required. When the tender is not on board, the entire cradle lifts out in seconds, leaving the swim platform completely clear: no hardware, no trip hazards, no obstructions.
Three ratchet straps with stainless steel ratchets and three stainless steel folding eyes are included as standard for securing the tender to the platform. The system arrives fully pre- assembled — no on-site assembly, no loose components. Side support angle, cradle width, and mounting point spacing are configured per project to match the specific tender and platform geometry. All structural components are manufactured from stainless steel AISI 316L (1.4404), electropolished for permanent saltwater exposure. Designed and assembled at H+B technics, Münster.
V-shaped arms conform to any tender hull — stable hold without gel coat damage
The cradle’s defining feature is its adjustable V-shaped side supports. Each support arm can be set individually to match the specific curvature of the tender’s hull. This is not a one-size-fits-all foam block or a fixed-angle chock — it is a mechanical cradle where the contact angle, opening width, and support height are configurable. The rubber-lined contact surfaces grip the hull without marking the gel coat, while the stainless steel structure beneath provides the rigidity to hold position under load.
The adjustability matters because tenders come in different hull shapes. A deep-V RIB sits differently than a flat-bottomed jet ski, and both sit differently than a semi-rigid with inflatable tubes. A fixed cradle either fits one shape well and the others poorly, or it compromises on all of them. Adjustable side supports mean the same cradle handles the owner’s 3-metre RIB today and a replacement tender with a different beam and deadrise angle next season — without buying new hardware.
The load distribution also matters structurally. When the side supports match the hull shape, the tender’s weight spreads across multiple contact points along the keel line rather than concentrating on two hard edges. This prevents the gel coat abrasion and hull distortion that occur when a heavy tender rests on poorly fitted chocks over months of use.
Lifts out in seconds — clear swim platform with no hardware left behind
The cradle mounts to the swim platform through a plug-in system: stainless steel bolts on the underside of the cradle drop into sleeves that are permanently installed flush in the platform deck. To mount the cradle, you place it on the platform and push the bolts into the sleeves. To remove it, you pull it straight up. No tools, no fasteners, no threading, no alignment procedure. The entire operation takes seconds.
This matters because a swim platform with a tender cradle bolted to it is a swim platform you cannot use for swimming, boarding, or sunbathing. The moment the tender goes in the water, the cradle becomes an obstacle. Folding eyes catch toes. Bolt heads snag towels. The platform that should be the most versatile space on the yacht becomes a hardware yard. With the plug-in system, the cradle comes out when the tender comes off, and the platform is genuinely clear — flush deck, no protrusions, no trip hazards.
The deck sleeves are installed once during initial setup and sit flush with the platform surface when the cradle is removed. They do not interfere with foot traffic, teak decking, or platform drainage. For shipyards, the sleeve installation can be integrated into the build schedule before the teak is laid.
Marine-grade stainless steel finished for permanent saltwater contact
Every structural component of the cradle is manufactured from stainless steel AISI 316L (1.4404) and electropolished after fabrication. Grade 316L is the established marine standard for hardware in permanent saltwater exposure — it resists pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress cracking under conditions that would destroy 304-grade stainless within months. Electropolishing removes the outermost material layer and surface imperfections where corrosion initiates, producing a chemically homogeneous surface with significantly higher resistance to salt spray than mechanically polished or passivated finishes.
This is relevant because a tender cradle lives in the worst environment on the yacht. It sits on the swim platform, at or near the waterline, in direct contact with salt spray, UV radiation, and whatever the tender drags aboard from the water. It gets hit by dock lines, scraped by fenders, and stepped on by crew. A cradle that starts corroding after one Mediterranean season is a cradle that gets replaced — at the owner’s cost and the shipyard’s reputation. Electropolished 316L is how you avoid that.
The ratchet straps and folding eyes included with the cradle are also stainless steel, matching the material grade and corrosion resistance of the cradle structure. There is no mixed-metal galvanic corrosion risk between the cradle, its fasteners, and its securing hardware.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about the Edelstahl Beibootauflagen.
The Edelstahl Beibootauflagen is a removable cradle that plugs into flush deck sleeves and lifts out by hand when not needed. The Einfaltbare Beiboot-Halterung is a folding cradle that is permanently mounted and folds flat into the platform surface when not in use. The removable version leaves an entirely clear platform with no visible hardware. The folding version stays in place but disappears flush. The choice depends on whether you prefer complete removal or permanent integration with a fold-flat design.
The verschiebbar (slidable) version adds a track rail system that allows the cradle to slide fore and aft on the platform. This is useful for adjusting weight distribution at the stern or repositioning the tender for lift operations. The standard Edelstahl Beibootauflagen is fixed in position once plugged in. If your platform layout requires the tender to move between a stowage position and a launch position, the slidable version is the better choice.
Yes. The V-shaped side supports are individually adjustable in angle and width. They accommodate deep-V RIBs, flat-bottomed jet skis, and semi-rigid inflatables. If you change your tender, the supports can be readjusted to the new hull shape without replacing the cradle.
The cradle has stainless steel plug-in bolts on the underside that drop into sleeves permanently installed in the platform deck. The sleeves sit flush with the deck surface. No tools are needed to install or remove the cradle. The tender is additionally secured with three ratchet straps that connect to folding eyes on the platform.
The electropolished stainless steel construction requires minimal maintenance. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater exposure. Check the rubber contact surfaces on the side supports for wear annually. Inspect the ratchet straps and folding eyes for corrosion or mechanical wear. The deck sleeves should be kept clear of debris to ensure smooth cradle insertion.
