Launch System
Getting a tender or jet ski into a confined garage on a large yacht requires more than a lift — it requires horizontal movement with guidance, low friction, and repeatable precision. When the garage opening is narrow, the ceiling is low, or the floor geometry is irregular, manual pushing and pulling is slow, damages the hull, and depends on crew strength. At sea, these problems compound.
The H+B technics Launch System solves this. A motorised winch drives the tender or jet ski along a roller track that is custom-engineered to the exact dimensions of the garage. The tender enters and exits the garage in a single controlled motion — guided by the roller system, driven by the winch, without manual handling at the hull.
Every garage is different — the Launch System is built to match.
The Launch System is not a standard product adapted to fit. It is engineered from the outset to the exact internal dimensions of the garage: floor geometry, width, length, ceiling height, and the entry angle from the swim platform or transom door. The roller track layout, winch mounting position, and guide roller spacing are all defined by the actual installation drawings.
This means the system uses the full available space without compromising clearance at any point. For a garage with an irregular floor, offset entry, or asymmetric width, the track geometry is adjusted accordingly. The result is a system that fits — not a system that requires the garage to be modified to accept it.
Because the dimensions are confirmed during the engineering phase, the complete system is delivered pre-assembled and ready for installation. The track sections are pre-fabricated to the confirmed lengths, the winch is mounted at the correct position, and the roller spacings are set for the specified tender or jet ski.
One control input — the tender moves itself.
The winch is the drive element of the Launch System. It is mounted at the forward end of the track and connected to the tender or jet ski via a line running through the roller guide system. When engaged, the winch retracts the line and pulls the tender into the garage along the track. To launch, the winch releases and the tender runs out — controlled, not free.
The winch eliminates the force requirement from the crew entirely. Moving a 400 kg tender into a narrow garage, over a threshold, and up to the stowed position is a single-person, single-button operation. There is no manual pulling, no pushing at the stern, no crew positioned inside the garage during the movement.
The winch system is sized to the specific tender weight and track resistance. For heavier tenders or longer track runs, the winch specification is adjusted during the engineering phase. All electrical connections are pre-run at the time of delivery.
Frictionless guidance — the hull is supported at every point.
The roller system is the contact layer between the tender hull and the launch track. A series of rubber-tyred rollers, mounted on stainless steel brackets along the track, supports the hull from below and guides it laterally. The rollers are positioned and spaced to match the hull profile of the specific tender, ensuring even load distribution at every point along the travel path.
Because the rollers are rubber-tyred, they protect the hull surface during movement. There is no metal-to-hull contact at any point. The rollers rotate freely with near-zero friction, so the winch force required is minimised and the movement is smooth even under load.
The roller spacing and diameter are specified during the engineering phase based on the hull shape and weight distribution. For jet skis with a narrower hull or higher centre of mass, the lateral guide rollers are positioned accordingly to prevent tipping. The system is designed to handle the specific vessel, not a generic profile.
Technical Specifications

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about the Launch System.
In most cases yes — the system is specifically engineered to the actual geometry of the garage. Irregular floor profiles, offset entries, and non-rectangular plans are all accommodated during the design phase. H+B technics reviews the garage drawings and defines the track layout accordingly. If a particular geometry creates a structural constraint, this is identified and resolved before fabrication.
The system is designed for the specific vessel. The roller spacing, lateral guide positions, and winch capacity are all specified based on the hull dimensions and weight of the tender or jet ski. There is no standard size limit — the engineering defines what the system handles.
The winch is electrically operated via a dedicated control panel. In most installations this is a push-button panel mounted near the garage entry. The control system can be integrated with the vessel's existing electrical and control infrastructure if required.
Yes. All hull-contact rollers are rubber-tyred. There is no metal-to-hull contact at any point during movement. The rubber specification is selected to be compatible with GRP, painted, and composite hull surfaces typically used on tenders and jet skis.
The system is delivered fully pre-assembled and function-tested from Münster. Track sections are pre-fabricated to the confirmed lengths, the winch is mounted, and roller assemblies are set. On-site installation connects the track to the garage structure and the winch to the vessel's electrical system. H+B technics provides installation drawings and technical support throughout.
